E-shift drum GT
Compact and ultra-light high-performance servomotor for direct mounting on the shift drum
With the E-shift drum GT, MEGA-Line RACING ELECTRONIC has once again succeeded in redefining the standard of modern shift systems! Like its big brother, the OEM e-shift drum, the GT e-shift drum is again a high-performance electric motor that is mounted directly on the shift drum ("direct drive").
As a result, the E-shift drum GT not only replaces all pneumatic shifting components including brackets and hoses, but also the ratchet mechanism of the transmission.
If you take into account the weight of the unit of only approx. 850g, there is a high probability that the weight of the entire system with the E-shift drum GT is lower than the pure weight of the gearbox including the ratchet!
In addition to this significant weight saving, the GT version of the e-shift drum offers additional advantages over all pneumatic shift systems on the market:
- Significantly increased positional accuracy
- The possibility to reach a neutral position between any pair of gears (for a simple decoupling of the drive train e.g. to save fuel or similar)
- Different shifting strategies per gear pair (e.g. to deal with high differential speeds, etc.)
The intelligent actuator includes active position management and also functions as a gear potentiometer (for additional weight and cost savings).
The necessary communication with the engine control is implemented completely via CAN. Optionally, analog inputs for UP and DOWN are also available.
