Split cam

In engine designs where the camshaft is mounted through the camshaft bearings, the bearing diameter becomes a limitation on the design of the camshafts.

AGAP has developed a patented principle, which makes it possible to mount camshafts with significantly larger camshafts than is otherwise possible.

It is based on the fact that the camshaft bearing positions are removable and assembled with the camshaft while being mounted in the engine.

Currently there are finished products for the Ford Model A and the BMW M10 engine. The constructions differ in detail but the principle where the bearing positions are dismountable are common. In comparison with a standard-type camshaft, the maximum lift height increases by 30-40% in these cases. Something that is important for possible power take-off.

Under products you can find camshaft for the Ford Model A, specifications for the BMW M10 will be in the near future.
