Recently we were asked to supply race exhausts for Liger LMP3 cars on behalf of United Autosports. These 420bhp Nissan V8 powered racecars are used for endurance racing, so they needed high quality, durable exhausts systems. They were to be made from thin wall stainless steel, with repackable silencers, and they had to meet UK track day noise limits.

 

The prototype exhaust was sent to Ligier who put the system through it’s paces on their engine dyno, it was proven to reduce power by less than 1% compared to the race day systems below 4000rpm and had no performance decrease in the rev range used on track!

As usual with motorsport the deadline was tight but we were able to produce 10 full systems, consuming 500 man hours and still get the cars out on the circuit in time. Our team is incredibly dedicated to their work and we only employ passionate driven people.

All of our work is built to the same exceptionally high standard, whether its motorsport or road cars. These exhausts included stainless steel V-band clamp fittings and all the mounts and brackets required, as would our road car systems. All welds are TIG welded and fully back purged, even the silencer feet!

These exhausts had their debut at the first ever Prototype Cup race at on the 9th of October at Snetterton race circuit, and all seven cars that raced were fitted with CGR systems.
