SoftStart was specially developed for basic electrodes that require a low welding current. HotStart, on the other hand, increases the current for a fraction of a second at the start to enable the electrode to ignite more easily, which is very useful for rutile and cellulose electrodes. Like a flashlight, TrackingArc helps to find the exact starting position, for example, when re-igniting after an interruption or after an electrode change. This is especially useful when using non-automatic darkening welding helmets. This prevents welding errors such as end-craters or notches from occurring in the first place and saves time-consuming reworking.

The MMA Pulse function is particularly well suited to achieving attractive, high-quality welds. This function enables high-quality welding at speed and is also an excellent choice for challenging welding tasks in tight spaces. Of course, TIG pulse is also available for the TIG version of the Ignis 180. The pulsed TIG arc primarily facilitates the welding of very thin materials, since less heat is introduced into the base material. When pulsing, the welding specialist has excellent control over the weld pool and can therefore produce the characteristic seam appearance with a high level of precision.
